My heart has always been drawn to providing therapy for eating disorders and supporting individuals struggling with these challenges. I love working with clients 12 years old and up who are dealing with disordered eating and eating disorders, as well as their support persons and/or families.
My journey into the world of therapy for eating disorders began at Albright College, where I earned my Bachelor's in Psychology. Driven by a passion to help others, I continued my education at Messiah University, completing my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
As an eating disorder therapist, I believe in meeting you exactly where you are on your journey. No judgment, no one-size-fits-all approach, no cookie-cutter therapy. Just genuine, human connection. I'm all about creating a safe, welcoming space where you can show up as your authentic self, whatever that looks like today. I also recognize that therapy for eating disorders is inherently vulnerable, and I do not take being a part of your healing team lightly.
I'm here to walk alongside you as we navigate the beautiful, messy, complex experience of being human.
Together, we'll gently explore your unique path to healing, honoring your lived experiences. Our journey will blend practical tools for managing challenges with mindful awareness and self-compassion.
We'll develop nurturing ways to care for yourself during difficult moments, and cultivate radical acceptance while moving towards a life aligned with your deepest values.
Throughout our time together, we'll acknowledge the broader social factors that shape our experiences, always striving for understanding, empowerment, and growth in a way that feels authentic to you. I recognize that I will never fully understand your lived experience, and in this world where diet culture is rooted in racism, ableism, healthism…all of the ‘isms…I’m here to be an advocate for what you need.
I want you to know something important: your eating disorder, as challenging as it is, began as a way to protect you. It's a survival mechanism that made sense in a world that often feels unsafe, especially for bodies that don't fit the narrow ideals promoted by diet culture. In a society that values and privileges straight-sized bodies and whiteness, it's completely understandable why these coping strategies developed. Your eating disorder has been trying to keep you safe in a world that can feel overwhelming and oppressive.
Together, we'll work on understanding its protective intent while developing new, more nurturing ways to care for yourself.
It's about finding what resonates with you, what feels right for your life and your experiences. We'll work together to process your thoughts and emotions, and develop skills that fit seamlessly into your world. I'm here to support you through the ups and downs, celebrating your victories (big and small!) and holding space for the tough moments. You're incredibly brave for taking this step, and I'm honored to be part of your journey.
Let's walk on this path together, at your pace, in a way that feels right for you.
Your story matters, and I'm here to listen.
