We understand that eating disorders don't exist in a vacuum. They're often influenced by broader societal issues and systems of oppression. To truly support our clients in finding peace with food, their bodies, and their lives, we believe in the importance of policy change, community support, and addressing these larger systemic problems.
We're aware that our team, like many in the eating disorder and dietetics fields, doesn't fully reflect the diversity of those we serve. Most of our clinicians are cis, white, able-bodied, straight-sized women. We recognize this as a significant limitation in providing the most helpful and affirming care possible.
It's crucial that people seeking help see themselves represented in their care providers. Eating disorders affect people of all races, ethnicities, genders, ages, abilities, body sizes, and life experiences. To address this, we're committed to ongoing education and supervision from weight-inclusive practitioners with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
We're actively working to make our practice and local healthcare spaces more inclusive and equitable for everyone. We warmly welcome applications from individuals with a wide range of identities and experiences, including those who are queer, BIPOC, disabled, fat, and anyone who has faced systemic barriers. Your perspectives and experiences are invaluable in helping us provide better care for all.
