Eating disorder recovery often means navigating changes — emotionally, socially, and physically. One of the most tender and challenging parts of that journey can be needing clothes that fit a changing body, without shame, pressure, or financial burden.
We created our free thrift closet because no one should have to choose between comfort and affordability, especially while doing the deep work of healing. This is a place where our community shows up for one another — where gently loved clothes meet brave bodies, and where mutual support makes recovery just a little bit softer.
We’ve heard it again and again from our clients:
“Nothing in my closet fits, and I can’t afford a whole new wardrobe.”
“Shopping feels overwhelming right now.”
“I just want something comfortable that doesn’t make me cry.”
So we listened — and responded with care. The closet lives right in our office, so you can browse before or after your session, with no pressure and no cost. Every piece was donated by others in recovery or those who support our work. The best part? You do not need to be a client of A Soft Place to Land to visit the closet! If you're in recovery, this is just as much yours — a true circle of community care.

We aim to keep the space affirming, gender-inclusive, and sensory-friendly. If you need support looking or want to browse privately, let us know — we’re happy to help.
