We believe transparency around fees is an important part of creating safety and trust in care. We also know that conversations about money can feel stressful, especially when you’re already navigating something heavy.
Our fees reflect the time, training, collaboration, and behind-the-scenes care that go into supporting you thoughtfully and ethically. Much of this work, including care coordination, preparation, and communication, is essential to high-quality treatment but is not fully reimbursed by insurance. We aim to balance accessibility with sustainability so we can continue offering quality compassionate care to our clients and families.
Below you’ll find an overview of our fees, insurance participation, and the different levels of support we offer. If you ever have questions or concerns about cost, we encourage you to reach out - we’re always happy to talk through options together.
As part of beginning care at A Soft Place to Land, we include a one-time $100 onboarding fee for all new clients. This helps cover the time our team spends thoughtfully reviewing your paperwork, coordinating care, and setting up everything behind the scenes so your treatment starts smoothly. Because insurance doesn’t reimburse for this essential work, this fee helps us support both our clinicians and our clients well. If this creates a financial strain, please reach out — we’re happy to discuss a payment plan option if needed.

When you or your loved one is navigating an eating disorder, it can feel like everything in life becomes heavier — the decisions, the uncertainty, the communication, the care needs, the emotional load. Families often tell us they feel like they are managing a second full-time job just trying to keep all the pieces connected. It can be exhausting, confusing, and overwhelming to carry this on top of everything else.
At A Soft Place to Land, we want you to know this:
Eating disorder recovery requires so many moving parts — medical providers, nutrition guidance, therapy, school or work considerations, family support, and sometimes higher levels of care. Trying to coordinate all of this on your own can feel isolating and stressful. Our goal is to gently take some of that pressure off of you, so you can breathe a little easier and focus on healing.
Our Enhanced Care Coordination services are built around the belief that you deserve to feel supported, held, and accompanied throughout this process. We step in to help organize the pieces, communicate with your treatment team, and offer the kind of steady, thoughtful guidance that helps everything make more sense. We’re here to walk alongside you — not just in sessions, but in the in-between spaces that often matter just as much.
Most outpatient practices offer weekly sessions and occasional updates.
We offer deeper connection. More communication. More presence.
Because for complex eating disorder cases, healing is stronger when the support is stronger.
You can think of this as having someone in your corner, helping to hold the bigger picture with you — someone who understands what it takes, who can help lighten the load, and who truly cares about your wellbeing and your family’s and loved one’s experience.
It’s our way of saying:
We provide two levels of support, depending on the needs of each individual.
Standard outpatient care includes everything most clients need during typical phases of recovery:
Therapy and/or nutrition sessions at your desired frequency
Occasional communication with other providers (email, phone, or documentation)
Periodic family sessions if needed (an additional fee not covered by insurance)
Brief update emails as clinically appropriate
This is what most outpatient practices offer — and for many clients, this level of support is enough.
Some clients require more intensive coordination due to the medical and behavioral complexities of eating disorders. In these cases, a higher level of between-session support is clinically appropriate.
Enhanced Care Coordination may include:
Frequent collaboration with other providers (therapists, dietitians, PCPs, psychiatrists)
Communication with hospitals, residential programs, PHP/IOP programs
Assistance with finding or evaluating higher levels of care
Participation in frequent multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
More frequent family communication or support
Advocating within medical settings to ensure eating-disorder–informed, equitable care — guiding hospital teams toward appropriate assessments and helping providers use accurate, non-stigmatizing language.
In-depth treatment planning
Development or revision of detailed meal plans outside of session
Coordination during transitions of care (hospital → residential → outpatient
Because insurance does not reimburse for this type of between-session time, these services are billed hourly.

For emergencies or urgent safety concerns, clients must contact: 911 or go to your nearest emergency room
Enhanced Coordination supports continuity of care — not emergency response.
Eating disorder recovery often involves:
Medical providers
Mental health clinicians
Dietitians
Schools
Family members
Programs at multiple levels of care
Enhanced Care Coordination ensures everyone involved in your treatment is aligned, informed, and working toward the same goals.
We’re happy to walk you through what Enhanced Coordination looks like and whether it’s appropriate for you or your family member.
